Dear Briarhill Cabana Club Members,

 

As we eagerly anticipate the start of another swim season, we're reaching out with a heartfelt plea for your support. Our beloved Briarhill Cabana Club, a cherished part of our community since 1963, is facing a critical challenge that threatens our ability to open this year.

 

Our pool requires significant updates to meet current Alameda County code requirements. We are working diligently with local jurisdictions to find a temporary solution that allows us to open this season while we address these necessary improvements.

 

The reality is that these essential upgrades come at a substantial cost: $150,000.00. This is a significant expense, and we urgently need the help of our community to support our efforts to raise these funds and save Briarhill.

 

We are actively pursuing multiple avenues to secure funding. As part of these efforts, we will be offering multiple-year memberships at a discounted rate, providing a valuable opportunity to support Briarhill while securing your future access. Additionally, due to the substantial expenses required for these upgrades, and recognizing that minimum membership increases over the years have only covered basic operating expenses, we have made the difficult decision to implement a temporary membership fee increase of 10% for the next four years. This increase will directly contribute to funding the necessary improvements and allow us to continue making much-needed upgrades to our facilities to better serve our members for years to come.

 

For 62 years, Briarhill has been more than just a pool; it's a vital community hub, a place where families connect, friendships are forged, and lasting memories are created. We understand the profound importance of this space to all of us, and we are determined to ensure its future for generations to come.
